METCALFE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
EDMONTON, Ky. (December 9, 2020) – The Metcalfe County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
Superintendent Josh Hurt provided an update on the district’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We are continuing at-home instruction due to an executive order from the governor’s office,” Hurt said. “The order does allow for us to provide small group and individual instruction, so we are taking advantage of that opportunity to make sure students are getting any additional assistance that they need.”
Hurt said the district hopes to resume offering the in-person learning option when students return from Christmas break on Jan. 4, 2021.
In his superintendent’s report, Hurt updated the board on the training district administrators have received on the updated Title IX requirements. He also thanked Judge Mica Pence for swearing-in recently re-elected board members Tim Brown, John Caffee, and Robin McMurtrey, who all begin new four-year terms.
On the agenda, the board approved the 2020-21 Comprehensive District Improvement Plan (CDIP) and the board meeting dates for January 2021 through June 2021. Those dates are on the district website calendar page here.
Due to the district’s at-home learning status, there were no recognitions at the board meeting. Board recognitions are sponsored by RBS Design Group, Glass & Thompson Insurance, and American Fidelity.
The next board meeting is Tuesday, January 12, 2020, at 6 pm at the Metcalfe County Board of Education on West Stockton Street.
