I live on a small farm just outside of Edmonton with my husband Randall.  We have two sons, Clay and the late Cody Shive.  I have been teaching in the Metcalfe County School district for 18 years. I recieved my Bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky University in 1995 and my Master's degree also from WKU in 1999.  I received my National Board Certification in 2005.  Over the years, I have taught first,second, and third grade.  Currently, I am a third grade reading and language arts teacher.  I love it because I have always loved books and writing.  It has always been a dream of mine to be a published children's book author some day.  We'll see!  I also enjoy walking, crafting, and spending time with my family.  As a family we enjoy going to truck pulls and horse shows.
