My name is Laura Nunn Reed and I'm the 8th grade English Language Arts teacher at Metcalfe County Middle School. I have been teaching for 25 years, and have taught every grade (except sophomores) from 6th grade all the way to 12th grade, including college level classes. I am a MCHS Class of 1987 graduate; I always loved participating in sports, mainly softball and basketball. I received my degrees from Western Kentucky University in 1991, began my teaching career in Cumberland County in 1992, then transferred to Metcalfe County in 1998, where I have been ever since.
I have a wonderful, high school sweetheart, mailman hubby, Ronnie, and three awesome kids: Nathaniel, a junior at WKU; Jerrica, a freshman at WKU; and Annika, a freshman at MCHS. We also have two dogs and three cats. I'm extremely family oriented and love to attend my kids' activities. We are a very close family who regularly attends church and loves to spend time together.
My favorite part of being a teacher is helping students learn and forming long-lasting relationships through which I still stay in touch with them 20 years down the road. I hope to be a positive influence on all kids and want to help them discover their God-given gifts/talents, see them succeed, and ultimately achieve all their goals.
