Hi! My name is Mrs. Lindsey Hood and I am so excited to be part of the MCES First Grade family! More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your child’s teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures, and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. I want to know ALL about you and your child, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.
When I graduated from Barren County High School, I attended Western Kentucky University! I majored in Elementary Education and couldn’t wait to graduate and start teaching. In 2012, I received my master’s degree from the Education Professional Standards Board- Continuing Education Option Program. In 2014, I was certified as a Reading Recovery Teacher through the University of Kentucky.
I taught 4th Grade for 4 years at North Metcalfe Elementary and then I moved on to teach Reading Intervention/Reading Recovery at Metcalfe County Primary Center. This is my third year teaching 1st Grade, and this is my 8th overall year of teaching.
I am married to a wonderful man, Greg Hood, who works as the Assistant Manager at Food Lion, in Glasgow. We have one precious baby named Ali Beth who is one.
I am so excited to be your child’s teacher and we are going to have an AWESOME year here at MCES!
