Metcalfe County Middle School students learned the importance of healthy eating during "Nutrition Day" on Sept. 29. MCMS health and physical education teacher Amber London organized the event. She helped core teachers integrate nutrition and healthy eating exercises into their daily lesson plans. Teachers used food to teach science, math, art, etc. Students then took part in a variety of taste tests.
In the past, only 7th grade students participated in "Nutrition Day." This year it was expanded to all students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades thanks to the McDonald’s of the Bluegrass Balanced, Active Lifestyle Grant Program.
