MCES Students Enjoy Fall Day with Hayride to Corn Maze

Hayride

MCES students enjoyed a beautiful fall day with hayrides to the corn maze on Friday, Oct. 20. The hayride took students from the elementary school to the cornfield just below the high school. MCHS FFA students then guided the children through the maze. They stopped at several checkpoints throughout the maze to learn about corn, farming, and the economy. After exiting the maze, students were treated to apples grown at Metcalfe County's Valley View Orchard. They also got to take pumpkin-spiced muffins back to their classrooms thanks to the UK 4-H Extension Office. The hayrides and corn maze provided the students with a day of fun and education while also supporting the district's Farm to School program. The Hornets welcomed him to MCHS and presented him with a signed football and team jersey #21.

Scotties' coach Jeff Garmon, with whom Cain likes to trash-talk with, joined him. MCHS students gave Cain a "hall roar" in his trip around the school. After meeting the Hornets, Cain and his family fulfilled the second part of his wish by meeting with the Monroe County Falcon Football team.
